The Tri Adventure
On August 14, 2009, Lisa H. was part of a team of 40 courageous athletes that embarked on the 5th Annual Tri-Adventure. This is her second year participating in this fabulous event! The 2010 event is just around the corner.
This challenging, fun three-day triathlon helps to ease the pain of HIV/AIDS in Africa at the grassroots level through the Stephen Lewis Foundation. At each leg of the journey, participants are fully supported with food, drink, safety personnel and equipment. All you need is a bike, a bathing suit and the desire to make a significant contribution. "I really believe in this cause; money raised is sent directly to places that need it most". Events included a 3 kilometres swim (or 15 kilometres run), a 15 kilometres canoe and a 140 kilometre cycle finishing off at Ashbridges Bay Park in Toronto.
This is a unique event where 100% of the sponsorship money raised goes directly to support those impacted by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa through the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
